Privacy Policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
Porchlight is a private app for households to track homes they are considering. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Google account basics. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password.
- Content you add. Homes, searches, notes, ratings, documents and settings you or members of your search create.
- Technical data. Basic logs needed to run and secure the service, such as request times and error reports.
How we use it
- To sign you in and show you only the searches you belong to.
- To provide features such as property details, commute estimates, notifications and AI summaries.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Google user data
Porchlight's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use your Google profile only to identify your account.
Service providers
We rely on trusted providers to run Porchlight, including hosting, database and file storage, email delivery, property data, maps and commute data, and AI processing. They receive only what is needed to provide their service to us.
Sharing
Content in a search is visible to the people invited to that search. We do not share your information with anyone else except service providers above, or when required by law.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing us.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted so each person can only see searches they are a member of. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
